The Sliding Hompression HIp Screw Fixation in the Treatment of the Proximal End of the Femur

Abstract
|
|
|
Between May 1974 and May 1975, ten patients with intertrochanteric or femoral neck fractures were treated by siding compression hip screw fixation.
The time allowed to weight bearing on the affected extremity was within 10 days in 5 patients. In the other 5 patients, who had other accompaning fractu~s and who .had passed more than 3 weeks frpm the time of injury, weight bearing on the affected side was permitted from 6 to 8 -weeks of operation.
The average time for fracture union in this sereies was about 4 months.
